Monday Message from Mr Burns
Today is the start of Children’s Mental Health Week. With our pupils unable to mix with their friends this year more so than ever we need to become more aware of how our children are feeling.
While at home we might find time to focus on the importance of looking after our emotional well being.
Express Yourself
Take time this week to find ways to express yourself and allow your children to express themselves. Share thoughts, feelings and emotions in creative ways. It’s not just about sitting down and talking, it’s about finding activities that make you feel good.
During the week our class teacher and I will share some useful ideas, challenges, tasks and tips on children’s mental health alongside the usual remote learning tasks and activities.
Good luck with everything at home this week!

Monday Message from Mr Burns
🙏Catholic Schools' Week🙏
This week is our annual celebration of Catholic Schools' Week. Our Parish Priest Fr Gerard McCloskey has a special video message for our pupils which will be shared this morning on Google Classroom and Facebook. This year the CSW theme is ‘Love, Resilience and Hope’.
Resilience is something our families in our school community have shown a lot of in recent times. Well done everyone on how you have all coped with the pandemic to date. We can only get through this one step at a time but we can do it together. Please don’t expect too much from you our the children.
🌟Grandparent's Day Art Activity- Can I ask all pupils to draw a picture of them & their Grandparent(s) and send it through to their teacher via email or GC and we will share these later in the week as part of our CSW celebrations.
🙏Fr Edward Magee will be celebrating a virtual CSW Mass on Thursday 28th January at 12 noon. Our families can join Mass via the St Mary's University College webcam link at:

A Mesaage from Mr Burns
Everyone in our school community has worked hard to follow the rules, do the right thing and try our best to mange the Covid-19 pandemic effectively. Despite the frustrations and setbacks we have remained positive and hopeful that we all come through this difficult time sooner rather than later.
Our pupils have class in the morning on Google Classroom. Their teachers are organised and waiting to help the children with their learning. Each teacher will have a video message on GC just after 9am. I am looking forward to seeing the great effort and work our brilliant pupils produce in each class.
We must remember to continue to follow our COVID-19 guidance now as much as ever before. Please remember anyone visiting our school building whether as a parent / guardian, key workers’ child / vulnerable child in supervised learning or our team of staff members- please follow the guidance & seek advice if unsure.
The safest place at the moment is at home.
Many thanks

All other pupils will have school work online using their Google Classroom for Friday 8th January from 9am.
We hope to reopen all classes to all pupils on Monday 11th January 2021.
Please note that due to the nature of this ever-changing COVID-19 Pandemic things may change but we will aim to keep good communication with you at home.
