• ‼️World Down Syndrome Day ▶️Thursday 21st March ✅Odd Socks Day in St Nicholas PS, Ardglass 🧐What is World Down Syndrome Day? World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) , 21 March, is a global awareness day which has been officially observed by the United Nations since 2012. The date for WDSD being the 21st day of the 3rd month, was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome. #WorldDownSyndromeDay

It will take place on Wednesday 27th March at 1pm. ▶️Add this date to your Diary! 🗓️ ✅Lots of stalls and special items will be available to purchase. 🍰 ☕️ P5 will also host a Cake Sale for Trocaire at the event. ‼️Open to the public and whole school community! • New Indoor GAA Handball Wall @ St Nicholas PS Ardglass Our newly installed GAA Handball Wall had its first handball coaching session by Ulster GAA Handball Coach Fiona Shannon for our P6 & P7 pupils this afternoon. Fiona was very impressed with the full size handball wall. We look forward to our weekly coaching sessions over the winter with Fiona. • Violin Tuition 🎶 🎻 Our Primary 3 pupils started their series of introductory violin 🎻 lessons today and it was super fun! Pupils attending St Nicholas PS have an opportunity to continue violon tuition through their years in St Nicholas PS.
