  • Dr Bike from Sustrans

    We had a visit from 'Dr Bike' today. Emma, from Sustrans visited the school and spoke about how cycling and walking to school was better for the environment as it was 'sustainable' travel. She showed the children her bike named 'Marmaduke' and spoke about the 'ABC Bicycle Check.' Emma also fixed some of the bikes in the racks at the front of the school.

     

    Congratulations to our Super Students this week: Ollie, Toryn, Kaci, Pabhraig and Mary-Kate. Playground Award went to Riley. Well done all!

  • Christmas Carols and Pageant

    Don't forget our Chirstmas Carol singing at the Ardglass Tree switch on tonight at 5:30pm. Meeting at 5:15pm. Santa will be arriving!

    Annual Christmas Pageant is on Wednesday 14th December. Two showings - 11am and 6:30pm.

    Not to be missed!

  • Anti Bully Week and Ditch the Dark

    🚫It's been a busy day week at St Nicholas' with a conclusion of our Anti-Bully Week activities. Included in the photos are our prize winners with Miss McGrady, for our 'Together We Are Stronger' poster competition. 🚫

     

    🎤Our PTA presented our School Council and Miss Fitzsimons with a Wireless Sound System and microphones which will be used for our forthcoming Christmas Pageant🎤

     

    🔦Our 'Ditch the Dark Day' was a great success as the children and staff came to school dressed in lots of bright and vibrant colours. Mrs Wilson organised activities for children to complete during the day 🔦

     

    👍Congratulations to our Super Students this week: Charlotte, Anna, Patrick, Shea and Chloe. Playground Award went to Ryan (missing from photo). Well done all 👍

  • Christmas Shoe Box Appeal

    Katie, Nathan and Matthew are pictured here donating gifts for our Christmas Shoe Box Appeal. We will be donating 10 Boxes to Ardglass St Vincent De Paul. Many thanks to those children who have kindly donated an item.

     

    Each class will work together to create a Christmas Shoebox for a boy and girl of Primary School Age. We will then present them to SVDP who will in turn present these to local families for their home.

    Parents of our school, Miss Shanie Worth & Mrs Theresa Taggart will lead the organisation of this.

  • Annual Autumn Eco-Garden Tidy-Up

    🍃🍂We held our annual Autumn tidy up of our Eco-Garden today. The children who wished to participate brought in their wellies, shovels, warm coats and spades and spent the afternoon working hard outdoors. They did a fantastic job. Thanks also to the parents and members of our PTA who gave up their time to help! 🐿

     

    Congratulations to our Super Students this week: Harry, Anna, Tiernan, Oisín and Colleen. The Playground Award went to Caysie. Well done all.

  • Blue Team wins House Trophy

    Congratulations to our Blue House Team who were awarded the House Team Trophy for the first term at school. The boys and girls were awarded with a party and some time out of class.  This team were awarded the most points overall for showing good manners, working hard in class and behaving really well.
  • Halloween Fest

    The boys and girls had a 'spooktacular' day with their Annual Halloween Fest. There were lots of fun activities, games and parties taking place in each class.  Everyone dressed up really well and prizes were awarded for the best 'Home-Made' outfits and a class colouring competition.
  • Netball and Gaelic Blitz

    St Nicholas' hosted our annual fun day blitz in Gaelic and netball. Teams from Legamaddy PS, Our Lady and St Patrick's and St Colmcille's joined us.

     

    The aim of the day was to integrate all of the teams and have some fun showcasing our local schools' future talents and they did not disappoint. A big thanks to all of the teachers, classroom assistants and other staff from our school and our local schools who came along and helped out during the day.

    Thanks to all the parents who came along to our Curriculum Evening in Literacy and Numeracy tonight. We hope you all had an enjoyable evening working on lots of different activities on how to make your child's learning in Comprehension and Measures fun! 

    Thanks also, to our hardworking staff who made the night so informative and enjoyable👍
