    📚 Home Learning Packs Collection📚- Monday 25th May 2020

We have always maintained the best and easiest way for our parents and pupils to manage working together at home during this period was to have paper based Home Learning Packs so our staff have produced a final Home Learning Pack for each pupil. These will be distributed on Monday 25th May at 12 noon from our School Hall.

These packs have been specially prepared to include revision in literacy & numeracy for pupils and some project work to keep pupils interested as Summer is on the horizon!

Ard Ghlais CLG,  Ardglass GAC will also be present at school on Monday at 12 noon giving out a great Fun Pack for each child!

  • Monday morning Message from Mr Burns 18/05/20

    Sun 17 May 2020
    Good morning everyone,

I hope everyone is keeping well and staying safe at home. Many thanks for the many well wishes and congratulations on the birth of our little lady Saoirse. Mum and baby are both doing well!

This week with good weather forecast I would like everyone to take part in a new challenge which should be good fun - I would like everyone to take part in our St Nicholas' PS VIRTUAL FAMILY PICNIC. Our teachers have more info on their Class Pages and have linked pupil learning to this whole school event also.

I would like everyone to send us a Photo of families taking part in the Picnic and email it to our class teachers or myself on kburns395@c2kni.net .

We will look forward to seeing your great Picnics Pics and we will share the pics as usual!

    Stay safe & have fun!
    Mr Kevin Burns

  • A message from our IFA Football Coach Heather

Monday Morning Message from Mr Burns - 11/05/20

It’s the start of a new week and it’s very important to keep up with schoolwork. The weather has been great and we have all been lucky to be able to get outside. In our house we try to get more work done earlier in the week and earlier in the day. That works for us but whatever works best for you at home is great!

Our teachers have another Monday Morning Message for you on each Class Page on our school website. I hope your Home Learning Packs are still proving useful but please contact our teachers or myself for any help you need. (Don’t forget to email in pics of your work and play at home so we can continue to share your great efforts and fun experiences with our school community)

Coach Heather has a message which I will post up today for our pupils. The Irish FA’s DENI Schools Coaches have some fun games & activities that children can play at home, these are easily set up and can use everyday household items. The link below takes you to free online resources and videos can be found under the heading “Let Them Play Challenges”. There are also some written/colouring activities!

Please keep up the great work at home, stay safe and take care of each other.

    Thanks

  • P7 Message

    Mon 04 May 2020

Monday Message for our Primary 7 Pupils

In school May & June in P7 is simply a ‘Big Countdown’ towards the great events P7 look forward to and love each year- including P7 Residential, P7 Leavers Mass, P7 Leavers Assembly, P7 Leavers Lunch & their final day!

We haven’t given up entirely on being able to do these special events for our P7s but we don’t know if school will reopen before the end of June but if it doesn’t we are busy making plans to do something special for our P7 pupils. They deserve it! We have our P7 Leavers T-shirts ordered!

We need our P7 pupils to help finish off their journey in St Nicholas' PS by recapping over all the things they have experienced in school. lt would be brilliant if you could take some time this week to complete the following activities and send them to our P7 teacher Mr Mason’s email rmason208@c2kni.net

    1) Send in pictures of your child. P1 pictures are always good, baby pics are even better😝, pics from school trips, sports days and pics with their friends outside of school in football teams etc. We make a leavers slideshow every year and this year will be no different.

    2) Write a recount about their time in St Nicholas'. Starting in P1/when they joined right up until this year. Recapping the memories, teachers, and things they miss and are looking forward to next year in 'big school'. There are useful resource on BBC bitesize and twinkl which may help also.
