    End of Year Letter to Parents / Guardians

     

                 Dear Parents / Guardians,

                 Enclosed is your child’s Annual Report & Annual Tri-Fold Information Leaflet for the next School  Year

                  2020-21.  

                  I would like to thank you all for the support given to pupils’ learning at home in recent months

                 support given to us in school during the year.  We are busy planning for the new school year

                 which begins from Monday 24th August for some pupils.

    Class Start Dates for 2020-21

     P2 - P7- Monday 24th August - WHOLE CLASSES in attendance each day (Week 1 – school finishes at 2pm)

     

     P1 - Thursday 27th August to 11am Group1, Friday 28th August to 11am Group 2

     (Thereafter Group 1 – Mon & Tue, Group 2 - Thurs & Fri)

     P1 School Day to Fri 25th Sept is 12noon or 12.30pm for Pupils receiving Free School Meals

     

     Our Breakfast Club will not be open for the first few weeks until we see how the Covid-19 pandemic     

     progresses.

     

             Please note due to the need for social distancing and possibility of cross-contamination,

              in the new school year pupils must bring the following items in their own pencil case to

              class each day and must not share their own belongings: Pencils, Erasers, Crayons / Colouring Pencils,

              Sharpener, 1 X Packet of Anti-Bacterial Wipes, 1 x Small Bottle of Sanitiser (e.g. 50ml)

             

              Have an enjoyable & safe summer and we will look forward to welcoming you back in the Autumn!

    📚 SUMMER READING CHALLENGE 📚

    The Reading Agency and Libraries have announced their 2020 Reading Challenge! 

    This is a great opportunity to promote reading for children of all ages throughout the summer! Reading is such an important skill for all children and should feel fun and exciting! Therefore, we are asking you all to take part in 'The Silly Squad!' 

    'The Silly Squad' will focus on funny books, happiness and laughter! It will be run through a safe online platform which allows for exciting interactive reading experiences, including eBooks and audiobooks. There will be online activities, videos, quizzes, games and rewards to unlock along the way. Every child who completes their own Challenge will receive a downloadable certificate.

    Good morning everyone, 

    This is our last full week of school and we would usually be heading away on End of Year Trips and having fun. This week be sure to take time at home to have a bit of fun and take a big break from school work! 

    I would like to say a huge thanks to parents & guardians for the huge effort over the past few months home schooling. It’s been a remarkable achievement from everyone at home to have survived to this stage! Well done to all!  Parents and Guardians you deserve a Medal🏅! 

    📚 ‘Silly Squad Summer Reading Challenge’ 📚 
    I would encourage every pupil to take part in the Summer Reading Challenge over the Summer which focuses on funny books, happiness and laughter!  We will send you info on registering for this this week and in Class Pages in our School Website. 

    ✳️‘Pupils’ Annual Reports & School Workbooks Collection’- Wed 24th June 12 noon to 1pm✳️

    Despite the shortened year in the classroom we have produced Pupils’ Annual Reports, Pupil Workbooks and further information regarding dates for our School Year 2020/21 from 12 noon this Wednesday 24th June from our School Hall.

  • Loan of Digital Devices during Covid-19 Crisis

    We are now in a position to loan digital devices to pupils who do not have access to digital devices for online learning at home (e.g. laptops)

  • Launch of new O’Neill’s 1/4 Zip for pupils

    For September we will be launching a new item of School Uniform - it’s our St Nicholas’ PS, Ardglass O’Neill’s 1/4 Zip with Pupil Initials @ £25. Click on the link to pay via PayPal or by Bank Transfer. The first Order will be sent away on Friday 6th July 2020. A further Order will be placed with O’Neills in Mid-September.

    Instead of missing out, our challenge this week is to have Sports Day at home.
     
    We will have 4 races:
            * OBSTACLE COURSE
            * SPRINT
            * EGG/POTATO AND SPOON
            * BOOK/ SOCKS ON HEAD
    (Be as creative as you would like)
