This week the children enjoyed playing games with their peers where they tried to write down the sentence that was put on their head using our new i-e sound πŸ‘

This week, the children enjoyed listening to our class novel β€œThe Twits.” The children enjoyed drawing pictures of Mr Twit and writing adjectives to describe him. The children shared their ideas with the class πŸ‘

Today the children worked in groups to create their own story about the naughty elf. The children then shared their stories with the class πŸŽ…πŸ»πŸŽ„

Today the children learnt the ou sound in phonics. The children loved making words using a range of different resources.

Today the children were working on their letter formation and were using the blocks to read and write CVC words

Today during phonics, the children learnt the new oo sound. We practised reading many words with the oo sound and then we went outside to practise writing words with the oo sound such as moon, pool and food. We also practised writing lots of CVC words.

Today the children used the magnetic letters to identify the initial sounds in the words. The children practised sounding out and reading the CVC words.

This week in phonics, the children have been learning the igh sound. They enjoyed making words with the igh sound using the letters.

During Literacy, the children role played the story of β€œThe Little Red Hen”. We also did a hot seating activity where the children pretended to be characters from the story answering questions that their friends asked them πŸ“

Today the children used the blocks to read and make CVC words. They have been working really hard to segment and blend the words!

Today the children enjoyed using the practical resources to make many words with the ee sound. They had lots of fun working with their partners!
